We began designing charts for counted cross stitch in 1993. Our goal was to provide designs that were traditional, simple and easy to stitch. The original sampler series is still popular today for quick, personalized gifts.

In 1995 we introduced First Name Shields, a series of coats of arms that depict the origin and meaning of male and female first names. To date, we have charted over 2,700 names, and add several more each week.

In response to the demand for "last names" we introduced the Coats of Arms series in 1997, beginning with the 100 most popular Scottish names. As we added reference materials we were able to increase the number of names available to over 120,000 from all over the world. As each name is researched, an authentic coat of arms is charted. We are, of course, not in the business of creating ancestors, so we do not claim that the arms belong to your own family. We do, however, assure you that someone with your last name once registered the arms depicted! To accommodate those who already have an idea of what their coat of arms should look like, we can work from a photograph, photocopy, sketch or description to create a custom coat of arms for you. In addition, should you wish to design your own coat of arms, we will be glad to assist you.

Continuing the theme of family heritage, we added, in 1998, a series of Scottish Clan Badges. These badges are worn or displayed by Scottish clan members to honor their clan and its chief. One customer, on seeing these badges, was heard to remark "I wish I were Scottish, so I could have one too!" If you feel that way, we can help you design a badge of your own. Many families have historic family crests and mottoes that could be displayed in badge form.

As a break from all the research, we occasionally offer other designs. By far the most popular is "My 8 Cats," a simple cat form that is outlined with cross stitches, then filled in with your choice of 8 combinations of pattern stitches. You'll find you "can't stitch just one!"

We also have a series of Baltimore Album Quilts to cross stitch, which now numbers four with the recent introduction of A Baltimore Album Quilt for Summer.

We begin our exploration of Celtic art with a selection of 20 Celtic Knot charts.

And finally, just introduced, we have created a series of coats of arms for the 12 signs of the zodiac.
