- The Sampler Series, originally called "Small Samplings," is a series of 35 small, easy-to-stitch samplers based on the motifs used in early American samplers. These are printed on durable 8 ½ by 11 card stock, and each includes a small colored picture of the finished design. Colors and fabrics are suggested, but as with all Hillcroft House designs, we encourage the stitcher to take part in the design process by changing the colors to suit her own tastes, and selecting fabrics and threads from the many varieties available at local needlework shops.
